About This Service
Real Timber Beauty, Engineered for Stability
There's something about a genuine timber floor that no print or vinyl can replicate. The grain varies from board to board, the surface has warmth underfoot, and the look ages well rather than dating.
Engineered timber gives you all of that with better practical performance than solid hardwood. The plywood base resists the expansion and contraction that Perth's summer-to-winter temperature swings cause in solid timber, so boards stay flat, gaps stay closed, and the floor keeps looking the way it did on install day.
Oak, blackbutt, spotted gum, and more, with 3 to 6mm real timber veneers.
With a thick enough wear layer, the surface can be sanded back and refinished once or twice over the floor's life. That means a single installation can last decades and still look fresh.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
It's a real timber veneer, usually 3 to 6mm thick, bonded to a plywood base. You're walking on actual wood, not a print. The plywood core is what makes it more stable than solid hardwood in changing conditions.
Yes, one to two times depending on how thick the veneer is. It won't last as many cycles as solid timber, but it means you can refresh a worn or scratched surface without replacing the whole floor.
It performs well in most living areas: bedrooms, lounges, dining rooms, hallways. For kitchens, laundries, and bathrooms, we usually recommend hybrid flooring, which handles moisture more reliably.
Better stability in Perth's climate. Solid timber moves with humidity and temperature in ways that cause gapping in winter and buckling in summer. Engineered timber handles those swings far better, and it can go over underfloor heating where solid timber can't.
Regular sweeping or vacuuming. Damp mopping with a timber-safe cleaner when needed. Wipe up spills promptly. Avoid harsh chemicals or excessive water. We go through all of this at handover so nothing catches you off guard.
